Fishing at Cawdor Estate

The Cawdor Estate enjoys seven miles of the River Findhorn as it cuts through the Drynachan Valley, renowned for its excellent catches of salmon and trout, especially sea trout. The Estate has three beats along this stretch, the top beat being Ballachrochin, the middle, Daless, and the lower beat, Dalbuie. Each is provided with a riverside hut in which meals and refreshments can be taken, safe from the elements.

Let by the week, the three beats rotate over the course of six days of fishing (Monday to Saturday) to allow anglers to experience two days at each location. Tuition and/or support can be separately arranged with an experienced River Findhorn ghillie. The fly fishing season commences at the end of April and closes at the end of September.
